EPIA PD-Series Mini-ITX Board
Introducing the new VIA EPIA PD-Series Mini-ITX mainboard. Based on the VIA EPIA CL-Series of Mini-ITX mainboards, the VIA EPIA PD adds more functionality with the onboard digital I/O and SMBus. It features four COM Ports and digital I/O support that is designed for use in POS systems. Its VT6105 and VT6103 Ethernet controllers make it a perfect fit for use as a hardware firewall system.
The mainboard is based on the VIA CLE266 chipset that features an embedded hardware MPEG-2 accelerator and an integrated S3 Graphics 2D/3D graphics controller. Its connectivity options include support for up to six USB 2.0 connections, four COM ports and two 10/100 Fast Ethernet ports. The VIA EPIA PD also offers support for a range of embedded LCD panels. Its additional expansion capabilities include one PCI slot. With the sizable memory bandwidth of DDR266 SDRAM and the high data transfer speeds of ATA-133, the VIA EPIA PD delivers the performance to run commercial digital video and audio applications.
The VIA EPIA PD conforms to the Mini-ITX form-factor measuring a mere 17 cm x 17 cm. Its low profile makes it even more space saving. The VIA EPIA PD is available with either the highly efficient VIA C3® or fanless VIA Eden® ESP processor. Its x86-based platform makes it compatible with a wide range of software including Microsoft® Windows® and Linux operating systems.
