VIA EPIA Mainboard Powers Telappliant ArenaTalk Voice Servers

Provides SMEs and SOHO users with complete, cost-effective SIP-based VoIP server for flexible and easy to use Internet telephony implementations

Taipei, Taiwan, 24th August 2005 – VIA Technologies, Inc, a leading innovator and developer of silicon chip technologies and PC platform solutions, today announced that VIA EPIA Mini-ITX mainboards have been adopted by UK-based Telappliant to power a new range of ArenaTalk Voice Servers that provide a complete ‘out of the box’ Internet telephony solution for small and medium-sized enterprises.

Offering two main skus geared specifically for the small or home office ( SOHO ) and for the SME, the ArenaTalk Voice Servers are compact systems based on the robust, low power VIA EPIA Mini-ITX mainboards within an elegant Tranquil PC chassis. The systems are easy to configure and manage, with a simple-to-use browser-based interface developed using the highly popular Asterisk Open Source PBX platform.

With its comprehensive suite of industry-standard SIP (Session Internet Protocol) based telephony applications, the ArenaTalk Voice Server not only enables companies to significantly reduce the costs associated with long distance calls, mobile phone calls, and high frequency dialers, but also helps enhance the efficiency of their operations through a host of advanced features such as call recording, call monitoring, and call management.

“We are delighted that VIA EPIA Mini-ITX mainboards have been adopted for ArenaTalk Voice Servers,” commented Richard Brown , Vice President of Corporate Marketing, VIA Technologies, Inc. “The convenience and simplicity of ArenaTalk provides a perfect illustration of how our low power, highly integrated platforms are inspiring innovative new communication and computing solutions that leverage the unrivaled flexibility and performance of the x86 architecture.”
