VIA Announces Comprehensive Processor Platform Support for Wind River’s VxWorks RTOS

Adds support for a reliable, efficient RTOS for medical, industrial automation and transportation applications

Taipei, Taiwan, September 28th, 2011 – VIA Technologies, Inc, a leading innovator of power efficient x86 processor platforms, today announced the forthcoming availability of a new board support package (BSP) for motherboards featuring the VIA Nano X2 CPU, VIA VX900 MSP and GigaLAN solutions and Wind River’s VxWorks real-time operating system (RTOS).

The VIA EPIA-M900 Mini-ITX board will be the first VIA motherboard to offer the BSP for VxWorks. Wind River’s VxWorks is a robust, reliable RTOS with a small footprint that offers fast booting and increased security suitable for resource-constrained environments critical in medical, industrial automation, transportation and other mission-critical applications.
