VIA HMI Panel Display Starter Kit
The VIA HMI Panel Display Starter Kit is the result of our experience of working with clients from all around the world on the design and development of all-in-one digital signage systems. The VIA HMI Panel Display Kit provides a reliable and affordable solution for accelerating the development of all-in-one streaming devices. Its Linux BSP is optimized to enable modern, HTML5-based digital signage applications, and includes hardware-accelerated video decoding in the Chromium browser.
The VIA VTS-8588 board is powered by a 1.0GHz VIA Cortex-A9 dual-core SoC with a dedicated graphics processor to ensure low power consumption and stunning performance for digital signage applications with extended uptime.
The board comes with onboard Wi-Fi and 10/100Mbps Ethernet with Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) support that helps to reduce or eliminate cabling and increases reliability. Other features include two USB 2.0 ports, one dual-channel LVDS connector, one PWM backlight controller, one COM (TX/RX) console connector, four GPIO, and one Micro SD card slot.
The kit’s BSP uses Ubuntu Linux 14.04, which has a wide user base and community support network. The BSP has been designed to enable modern HTML5-based digital signage applications, and includes hardware-accelerated video decoding in the Chromium browser. Further software customization services are also available upon request.
The kit includes an optional 17″ LVDS LCD display that has been validated for use with the VIA VTS-8588 board to accelerate product development and manufacturing. Additional hardware customization services are also available on request.
