VIA NAS7040 Mini-ITX Mainboard
The VIA NAS7040 Mini-ITX Mainboard is an ultra compact native x86 platform optimized for NAS or Windows Home Server (WHS) applications. Based on the VIA CN896 chipset featuring the VIA C-9 HC Integrated Graphics, the VIA NAS7040 boasts superb 2D/3D and video acceleration for a rich digital media performance.
The VIA NAS7040 uses a powerful, secure, and energy-efficient VIA C7®-D 1.8GHz processor, supporting the VIA Padlock® Security Engine, VIA CoolStream™ Architecture, VIA StepAhead™ Technology Suite, and VIA TwinTurbo™ technology.
Delivering the high performance levels required by industrial embedded applications, the VIA NAS7040 supports up to 4GB of DDR2 667 memory and native support for SATA II storage devices. High-bandwidth connectivity is supported with the inclusion of two USB 2.0 ports and one Gigabit LAN port on the back panel. Two additional USB 2.0 ports are available through onboard pin connectors.
The VIA NAS7040 can be implemented in NAS or Windows Home Server (WHS) applications with a host of included onboard connectors, including support for up to four S-ATA II devices in RAID and non-RAID configurations.
The VIA NAS7040 is also compatible with a full range of Mini-ITX chassis as well as FlexATX and MicroATX enclosures and power supplies. The VIA NAS7040 is fully compatible with Microsoft® and Linux operating systems and is available in a variety of configurations.
