Providing a smarter and more effective way for preventing forklift pedestrian accidents from happening is the most important goal of our new VIA Mobile360 Forklift Safety System. With its support for smart people detection through its front and rear wide-angle cameras, the system not only acts as a second pair of eyes to improve the situational awareness of the forklift operator. It also serves as an early warning system by issuing a sound or voice alert to the operator whenever someone steps within the people detection zone of the vehicle so that they can take evasive action.
The people detection zone for the system’s cameras covers an area of between four and five meters depending on the camera installation height. You can configure the detection area with either a single critical zone or two warning and critical zones with the VIA Mobile360 WorkX smart phone app. Configuring the voice and sound alerts is easy using the app. The system’s 2W speaker ensures that the alerts are loud enough to be heard in even noisiest environments.
If you require visual people detection and driver monitoring alerts as well, you can add the optional 7” CVBS display to the system. This also provides the forklift operator with live video feeds from the front and rear cameras to improve their awareness of what is happening around their vehicle. The video footage from the front, rear, and driver can be saved on a Micro SD card for downloading and viewing using the VIA WorkX app.
