Overview
Speed up the development of advanced edge AI systems and devices with the VIA VAB-5000 board. Powered by the MediaTek Genio 700 octa-core processor, this highly integrated low-power platform delivers the blistering AI, graphics, and compute performance required for the most demanding industrial, commercial, and consumer use cases.
Based on an industry-standard Pico-ITX form factor, the VIA VAB-5000 offers a rich array of expansion options, including HDMI, MIPI CSI, USB 3.1, GPIO, and Micro SD card connectors. Flexible network, display, and camera connectivity can be enabled through the Gigabit Ethernet port, a Nano SIM card slot, and connectors for optional dual-band Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, edP or LVDS display/touch panel, AHD camera, and 4G/5G module. The VIA VAB-5000 board is powered by a MediaTek Genio 700 octa-core processor combining two Cortex-A78 cores operating at 2.2GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores running at 2.0GHz with an integrated AI processor for deep learning, neural network acceleration, and computer vision applications.
With its highly integrated design, the board offers flexible display and camera integration options, including HDMI and MIPI CSI support. Other key features include Gigabit Ethernet, an integrated Nano SIM card slot, connectors for optional dual-band Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, edP/LVDS, AHD camera, and 4G/5G, as well as two USB 3.1 ports, one M.2 slot, 4GB/8GB LPDDR4X DRAM, and 16GB eMMC flash memory.
The VIA VAB-5000 board is based on a Pico-ITX form factor measuring 100mm x 72mm (3.9″ x 2.8″).

VIA VAB-5000 BSP
The VIA VAB-5000 BSP supports Android 13, Yocto 4.0.x, and Debian 12. VIA VAB-5000 Android 13, Yocto 4.0.x, and Debian 12 EVK packages can be downloaded here to enable hardware functionality. A full set of software customization services that speed up time to market and minimize development costs is also available.
