With a record attendance of nearly 140,000 visitors from 136 countries, Conexpo-Con/Agg 2023 more than lived up to its billing as the largest construction industry trade show in North America. It also provided the perfect platform for us to meet with visitors and demonstrate the latest innovations in the VIA Mobile360 HESS (Heavy Equipment Safety System) and VIA Mobile360 FSS (Forklift Safety System).
With its unique vSense sensor fusion technology combining AI-powered camera and 77GHz mmWave radar detection in a highly ruggedized system, VIA Mobile360 HESS garnered a huge amount of interest – most notably from customers in the aggregates industry planning to add smart collision avoidance capabilities to the loaders, haulers, water trucks, and other heavy vehicles that they operate in their quarries and excavation sites.
The ability of VIA Mobile360 HESS to detect potential safety hazards with pinpoint precision in all weather, lighting, and operational conditions was one of the most attractive benefits. Detection zones and alert types that are configurable by vehicle type, workplace scenario, and other site-specific requirements also proved to be another key feature that caught the eye of visitors.
Our live demonstration of the VIA Mobile360 FSS captured a great deal of attention from visitors across many different segments of the construction industry in search of solutions for preventing pedestrian accidents in their busy materials handling and logistics operations. The rugged RAM® Mounts that we used to install the VIA Mobile360 FSS cameras and screen on the forklift were extremely popular. In the very near future, we plan to make them available for all VIA Mobile360 FSS customers. Watch this space for the latest updates!
